Our Tents
Meet our little tent family! Every single time we buy a tent we agree this is the last one we need to add to the collection. And then we see something else we like.. Below we describe the tents we own, and what their main use case is for them.
De Waard Grote Bonte Specht
Our base camp tent is a cotton one from De Waard, a dutch company that makes stormproof tents. It is a 3 person tent, which gives us plenty of space to sleep and store loads of gear. The tarp, which connects to the single pole, creates a space to sit, cook and enjoy sunsets. It has conquered a few heavy storms in France already and has shown its worth!
Durston X-Mid 2 Solid
Our favourite ultra light backpacking tent. Pitched in seconds, just a few grams over a kilogram, beautiful design, and storm proof - perfect. The tent has no poles on its own, but can be pitched using 2 trekking poles! It easily fits in our backpacks en the vestibules leave enough space to store your things at night. It held up great during our time in Norway, where it had to contend with strong winds and lots of rain.
Nordisk Oppland 3.0 PU
The Nordisk tent is our choice for bad weather and winter camping. We chose the 3 person version to leave plenty of space for either a big matress or gear. The large vestibule at the front leaves enough space to sit on rainy days and even cook inside if necessary. It will be going with us to Norway this summer so we’ll let you know how it holds up!
Inspired Overland Rooftop Tent
Our latest addition to the tent-family is our rooftop tent. It’s a hybrid tent: while it’s a clamshell design, it does not have an aluminium cover like most of its counterparts. Instead, it has a strong polyester cover which makes it extremly lightweight. It sleeps the two of us comfortably and is very slim on top of the car. Great for car camping in places where wildcamping is allowed.
Naturehike Mongar 2
Our most basic tent is the Naturehike Mongar 2. A small backpacking tent which is easy to set up. We use this during camping trips when we know the tent will be out in the sun all day to protect our more expensive polyester and nylon tents. It’s small and semi-freestanding which makes it a good summer camping tent.
